There is a huge diversity of things to do and see with historical, adventurous, culinary and relaxing options all within reach.   Why not try coasteering or the 'Go Ape' tree top adventure; Crealy Adventure Park is 35 mins away, or you can visit the Winsham Deer Park or Ferne Animal Sanctuary.
 
Lyme Regis and the Jurassic coastline are a short drive away as are the market towns  of Axminster, Crewkerne and Ilminster.  Whereas Bristol, Exeter, Taunton, Dorchester and Yeovil are all within comfortable driving distance and there are many historic houses and gardens to visit in the area, as you can see below.
